Week Long Events
Scavenger Hunt
Date/Time: Monday (11am) to Friday (5pm)
Location: Campus Wide
Details: Follow our clues to find the mysterious items placed on campus, snap pictures and submit them to win awesome prizes!
Prizes: 6x $50 Certificate for Astroff Consultants
RULES:
1) Take a creative photo with the clues given below.
2) Email it to sw.webmaster@sus.ubc.ca with Subject Line: Scavenger Hunt by Jan 27, 2012 @ 11:59pm. Don’t forget to include your name, people who are in the picture and the clue in the email as well.
3) Winners will be announced on Monday, Jan 30, 2012 on Facebook SCIENCE WEEK events page. Be sure to challenge your friends for the fun contest!
CLUES:
1) Alien Invasion! We have spotted an alien on campus. Can you find him and track him down between 11am to 2pm?
2) Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country. The most mysterious place on campus.
3) Green Slime. Did you visit Jello Wrestling yet? Take your best shot!
4) Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Challenge the aliens for the most alien-inspiring pose!
5) Transformers: Mimic and become a statue or an image on campus.
6) Star Wars: The Clone Wars- Find the most alienated-looking objects on campus and make a clone of it!
Science Week 2012 Contests

Science Club Booths
Date/Time: 10am – 4pm, daily
Location: SUB Concourse
Details: Visit the SUB concourse to see all the clubs the Faculty of Science has to offer! The club booths will be hosting demonstrations, selling merchandise, and recruiting new members. Visit the booths page for more information!

Kick-Off Party

Details: Free cake, door prizes, release of SUS strategic plan and photo display showcasing SUS's history!
Keynote
Date/Time: Monday, Jan. 23rd 5:30-7pm
Location: Abdul Ladha
Details: As a Paralympic athlete, Andrea Holmes has done it all. For every attendee, $8 will be donated to the Rare Disease Foundation, so come and be inspired! Food and refreshments will be provided during the reception following the keynote speech.

Details: Wrestle away in a mysteriously glowing pool of Jello, and win prizes too!

Professor Pageant

Details: Watch your favourite professors Dr. Jackie Stewart, Dr. Jennifer Love, Dr. Angie O'Neil, and Dr. Celeste Leander strut the runway to be crowned SUS's first ever Science Professor 2012!
iKonnect Health Care Night
Date/Time: Thursday, Jan. 26th 6-8pm
Location: Abdul Ladha
Details: Come interact with Health Care professionals (MDs, Dentists etc.) and professional school students to find out more information on a variety of careers in Health Care, and obtain advice and tips on getting into Medical School (interviews, application, volunteering etc.).

KAP SLAP:
Jared is a senior at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania who mashes music and DJ's in his free time. He began experimenting with Garageband in late 2009 and released his first mashup using Ableton Live 8 in the summer of 2010.
The stage name Kap Slap refers to his family line shot in the Kappa Alpha Society; immediately after the recipient begins funneling a beer a shot of Bacardi 151 rum is added, giving them a "slap" in the face.
